Wor-Wic Community College
Distance Education Online Orientation

Technical Requirements:

To successfully complete an online class, you must have access to a computer (PC or Mac) with high speed internet connection. If you don't have reliable access to a computer that meets these requirements, you can use on-campus computers available in MTC 200, BH 217, AHB 108, FOH 305, GH 204, and HH 100.

Supported Browsers & Operating Systems:

For a list of supported Browsers and Operating Systems, you can visit the Blackboard Support Resource Center

Other Software:

A word processor is required for all distance learning courses; other software may be required depending on the course in which you are enrolled. All Wor-Wic instructors use Microsoft Office application software such as MS Word and MS PowerPoint. If you don't have MS Word, you will need to save your assignment files as Rich Text Format (RTF) before you submit them to your instructor.

If you don't have MS Office application software, you will need to download a free viewer to be able to open files sent by your instructor. Your course may also require other plug-in software such as media players. To download plug-in applications, go to our Downloads and Plug-Ins page.
