“Aim for Success” Open House Program for First-Time Students
Our mission is to help new students, parents, and family members understand the experiences of a new
college student. The challenges for first-time college students can, at times, seem overwhelming. However,
with the same basic knowledge and strategies, all students can be successful at college. It is the purpose
of this program to accomplish this task, as well as to: help empower students to make a successful transition
to college, reassure students and parents that the choice of Wor-Wic Community College is one based
on value and quality, increase awareness of the array of services available for new students, and enhance
knowledge of credit offerings in occupational and transfer programs.
This open house program will also present information on various topics such as: the application process,
diagnostic testing, financial aid/scholarship information, academic advisement, study skills/stress
management, parent’s rights vs. student privacy rights, and success strategies. For more information
and to reserve seating, please call the Admissions Office at (410) 334-2895.
