Stanley Plumly is the author of eleven books of poetry and poetics, notably Now That My Father Lies Down Beside Me: New & Selected Poems, 1970-2000. His poems have appeared widely in publications such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, and The Paris Review, among others, and his honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, the Ingram Merrill Foundation Award, and six Puschart Prizes. Plumly teaches in, and co-directs, the creative writing at the University of Maryland, and in 2009 he was named Maryland’s Poet Laureate.
