Work Experience

2002 - present. Wicomico County Board of Education, Salisbury, MD. Parent Involvement Specialist, Coordinator of Communications and Community Outreach.

1980 - 2001. General Board of Global Ministries (The United Methodist Church), New York, NY. Various positions as a trainer, administrator, writer, and researcher. Led seminars in education and music in 30+ states and several countries. Author of curriculum and training manual for missionaries and volunteers in mission.

1997 - present. GeeFaye Associates, Salisbury, MD. Director of music and education consulting firm. Editor of manuscripts, theses, and dissertations. Leader of piano and singing workshops. Writer/Creator of resources (brochures, manuals, magazine articles). Developer of video resources (Standing in Need: Addressing Poverty in America; For the People Had a Mind to Work: UMC ministries in Africa).

Community Services / Committees

Volunteer (7 years) with HALO (Hope and Life Outreach), a ministry for women and children experiencing homelessness.

Salisbury's Promise, local component of America's Promise. Serve as liaison between Salisbury's Promise and Wicomico County Board of Education, supporting faith-based partnerships for schools.

Member, Mt. Zion UMC (Quantico). Minister of Music & Arts. Director and accompanist for 3 choirs, various soloists, and coordinator of the praise dance ministry.

Awards

1998, 2001, and 2004. Service award for music ministry at Grace UMC, St. Albans, NY; Hollis Presbyterian Church, Hollis, NY; Mt. Zion UMC, Quantico, MD.

2000. Outstanding Service Award. Souper Bowl of Caring, national organization for ending hunger in local communities by mobilizing youth and adults to raise money during the Super Bowl weekend annually. Served as a board member, 1997 - 2001. Served as chairperson for 3 years.

1997. Young Alumnae Award. Wilson College for service to the college as a member of the Alumnae Board and an alumnae recruiter.
