Education

Elaine Vander Clute received a B.A. in English from Le Moyne College in 1975, an M.S. in Counselor Education from Syracuse University in 1977, an M.B.A. from Boston University in 1982, and an Ed.D. from Wilmington College in 1997.

Work Experience

Dr. Vander Clute teaches both regular sections and the honors section of Fundamentals of Oral Communication, the college’s speech course, is the head of the arts and humanities department, and oversees the general studies program. In the past, she has taught several English courses and the instructional communication course at the college. Prior to coming to work at Wor-Wic, she was a marketing manager at Publishers Clearing House and taught communication courses at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Community Services / Committees

Dr. Vander Clute is a member of the Honors Committee, the Developmental Education Committee, and the General Education Assessment Committee. In the community, she is a founding member of the Worcester County Swim Fund, a donor-advised fund of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore; serves on the Worcester County Teacher of the Year interview and portfolio teams; and offers a public speaking workshop for participants in the Wicomico County Drug Court program.
