Theater Performances to Benefit Relay for Life
July 29, 2009

The public is invited to performances of “Ladies of the Tower” and “Incorruptible,” in Guerrieri Hall at Wor-Wic Community College, to benefit Relay for Life. Performances will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m.

“Ladies of the Tower,” written by Ruth Perry and Tim Kelly, is a one-act drama about life, death and understanding set in the Tower of London. Two cleaning women are visited by the spirits of Lady Jane Grey, Queen Catherine Howard and Lady Rochford, all of whom died in the tower at a young age.

“Incorruptible,” written by Michael Hollinger, is set in Priseaux, France, in 1250 A.D. This two-act dark comedy is about a failing monastery that resorts to selling fake holy relics in order to repay old debts. While trying to attract paying religious pilgrims, the monks also manage to get the Pope’s attention.

Tickets, which are $10, are available in the college bookstore at Wor-Wic or at Avery Hall Insurance. For more information, call the bookstore at Wor-Wic at (410) 334-2603 or Avery Hall at (410) 742-5111.
