December 23, 2009

Real estate courses designed to help students prepare for broker and salesperson licensure in Maryland are being offered in January by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Real estate agents interested in becoming licensed brokers or associate brokers can benefit from taking “Commercial, Investment and Industrial Properties,” which will meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 20 through Feb. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This course, in combination with “General Real Estate Law,” which begins Feb. 24, and “Maryland Law and Property Valuation,” which begins March 24, provides the mandated 135 hours of training to meet the education requirements to become a licensed real estate broker or associate broker.

Anyone interested in a career as a real estate salesperson can benefit from taking “Real Estate Principles and Practices,” which is designed to help students develop an understanding of finance, insurance, contracts, settlements, real estate law, ethics, appraisal techniques and regulations. The class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 25 through April 7, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. This course provides the mandated 60 hours of training to meet the education requirements to become a licensed real estate salesperson.
