Jail and Correctional Officers Graduate

Twenty-two jail and correctional officers from Dorchester, Somerset and Wicomico counties graduated in the 64th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall on the college campus, featured a commencement address by Douglas C. Devenyns, director of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections.

Donald L. Rollyson Jr., instructor of criminal justice at Wor-Wic, presided at the ceremony. Awards of excellence were presented by agency representatives.

Graduates included Granival D. Batson Sr. and Kevin C. Parks of the Dorchester County Detention Center, Edward A. Adkins, Takiya L. Barkley, Michael W. Byrd, Malik A. Cannady, Raymond H. Deshield Jr., John M. Kardiasmenos, Darrell L. McCleese, Jarrod M. Mister, Justin L. Richardson, Ashley P. Thornton and Michiel T. VanZoolingen of the Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI), Andrew A. Benton and Edward B. Ward of the Somerset County Detention Center, and Gwen L. Armstrong, Billie R. Gass, Michelle R. Hearne, Trinette E. Jones-Steele, William I. Saunders III, Jack E. Schevel and Stephen R. Sides of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections.
