Neat to Speak at Wor-Wic Graduation

Marty Neat, president and CEO of the First Shore Federal Savings and Loan Association in Salisbury, will address the 2006 Wor-Wic Community College graduates at the college’s 29th commencement exercises on Tuesday, May 9, at 7 p.m., at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury.

Neat joined First Shore Federal in 1985 and became its president and CEO in 1991. He oversees eight branches and $280 million in assets.

Neat recently chaired the steering committee for Wor-Wic’s Three-Way Challenge Campaign, which raised more than $3 million to support technology, nursing and child care initiatives at the college.

He is a member of the board of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member and past chairman of the Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Service, past chairman of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, past chairman of the Greater Salisbury Committee and past president of the United Way of the Lower Shore. He serves on the “Town Gown” task force and advisory councils for the Seidel School of Education and the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University (SU).

He received his bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Frostburg State University and master’s degrees in history and business administration from SU.
