Supervision and Leadership Seminars Offered in October

Managers and supervisors can learn to lead work teams, retain employees, manage generational differences and improve communication skills by taking supervision and leadership seminars being offered in October by the continuing education office at Wor-Wic Community College.

“Results Driven Leadership for Team Success” is designed to help supervisors learn how to obtain sustainable results from a work team by concentrating on vision, mission, strategy, goals and objectives. The class will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Learn skills and strategies for managing and motivating four generations of employees, including veterans, baby boomers, gen Xers and nexters, by taking “Managing Today’s Workforce: It’s a Generational Thing.” The class will meet on Friday, Oct. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the college campus.

“Retaining Your Best Employees” is designed to help managers create a plan for hiring and retaining employees and assessing employee performance. The class will meet on Monday, Oct. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce in Salisbury.

Discover the different types and ways to communicate and how to do it effectively by taking “Communication Skills for Supervisors.” The class will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the college campus.
