Real Estate Courses Offered in October

Developers, appraisers, bankers, property managers and real estate agents can benefit from taking one-day seminars being offered in October by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College.

Maryland real estate-related legislation, including retention proceeds on construction contracts, lead paint regulation of residential rental property and timeframes regarding resale of condominium units will be covered in a course called “2008-2010 Legislative Update,” which is being offered on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Learn how to recognize unethical situations, predatory lending and illegal flipping of properties by taking “Ethics in Real Estate,” which is being offered on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the college’s Ocean Resorts Golf Club in Berlin.

Federal and Maryland fair housing laws, including Housing and Urban Development advertising guidelines, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act will be covered in a course called “Fair Housing for Real Estate Professionals,” which is being offered on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the college’s Ocean Resorts Golf Club in Berlin.
