Hoy Elected as President of MCCCCEO

Hoy, president of Wor-Wic Community College, was recently elected president of the Maryland Council of Community College Chief Executive Officers (MCCCCEO).

The MCCCCEO consists of presidents from each of the 16 community colleges in Maryland who work together on statewide initiatives to benefit Maryland community colleges.

As part of his MCCCCEO presidency, Hoy will serve as vice president of the Maryland Association of Community Colleges.

“I am honored to be elected to this position,” Hoy said. “The community colleges are a great asset to our state and among the best in the country. Collectively, we can work together to make them even better.”

Hoy is a community college graduate, who went on to earn a bachelor’s degree, two master’s degrees, a law degree and a doctorate. Hoy has been president of Wor-Wic for the past six years, and has more than 30 years of experience in community college administration.

In 2005, Hoy was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Investment Board. He is also a board member of the Peninsula Regional Health System, the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, the Maryland Hospital Association, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tri-County Health Council and the Wicomico County Visioning Committee.
