Law Enforcement Class Graduates

Twenty-two law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Talbot, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Allegany counties graduated in the 69th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Sheriff Michael A. Lewis of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

John C. Moses, director of criminal justice at Wor-Wic, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by Charles W. Rapp, executive director of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md., and various agency representatives. Deputy Tyler S. Bennett of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Rapp.

In addition to Bennett, graduates included Brian J. Barr, Jeffrey C. Miller, Reed A. Plaskon, John E. Ruark and Brittany A. Sigmund of the Salisbury Police Department, Jennifer L. Hastings and Ryan P. Osterwalder of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department, Robert D. Harris of the Delmar Police Department, Stuart D. Howser of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Benjamin O. Berry, Neshawn L. Jubilee, Michael R. Kirkland, Philip M. Paterson, Daniel M. Pollock and Kenneth W. Reed of the Ocean City Police Department, Brandon M. Bradley of the Hurlock Police Department, Brittanie N. DiMichele and Chad J. Foxwell of the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, Mitchell C. Jones of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Department, Michelle M. Leone of the Chestertown Police Department and Alan P. Zapf of the Frostburg City Police Department.
