Wor-Wic holds 13th annual golf tournament

Wor-Wic Community College recently held its 13th annual golf tournament at the college’s Ocean Resorts Golf Club in Berlin. Proceeds from the tournament totaling $35,000 will be used to benefit the college’s on-campus child development center.

This year’s top team for low gross score was the Eastern Shore Distributing team of Greg Bassett, J. “Cakes” Fletcher, John Littleton and Dennis Weller, followed by the Rowen’s Mill team of Ray Hoy, Phil Insley Jr., Pete Reddish and Bill Rinnier. Third place went to the Trevor Jones team of Rich Disharoon, Cathy Hanssens, Trevor Jones and Nicole Rafer.

The top team with the lowest net score was the Edward Jones team of Joe Ellingsworth, Garry Morris, Phil White and Bill Widdows, followed by the Delmarva Power team of John Mitrecic, John Petito, Ken Petito and Malcolm Vankirk. Third place in net score went to the Becker Morgan Group team of Chas Brenner, Cheryl Brenner, Hope Morgan and Ron Morgan.

Longest drive winners were Ashley Stern and Harrison Pinnix. Winner of the putting contest was Jim Bianco. Closest to the pin prizes were awarded to Greg Bassett, Ryan Duschl, Gerry Elliott and Rick Wilson.
