Real Estate Courses Offered in Salisbury and Berlin

The office of community and continuing education at Wor-Wic Community College is offering continuing education and general interest courses in real estate this fall.

Develop a better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of investing in residential property, taxes and cost recovery, leverage and finance, exchanges and wealth building strategies by taking “Real Estate Investing: An Introduction,” which is being offered on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

“How to Make Money in Rental Properties” is designed to help anyone learn the basics of real estate investing, and selecting and managing tenants. The class will meet on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the college’s Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center in Berlin.

Learn about tax-free exchanges, Section 1031 of the federal tax code, including important elements of the transaction, required documentation, necessary parties, timing considerations and common pitfalls by taking “Tax-Free Exchanges: An Update and Guide for the Real Estate Professional,” which is being offered on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., in Berlin.

“Atlantic Coastal Bays Critical Area Overview for Real Estate Agents and Brokers” covers ways to protect agents and brokers and how to find and read critical and buffer management area maps. The class will meet on Friday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the college’s Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center in Berlin.
