Nichols to Speak at Graduation

<p>R. Charles Nichols of Berlin, a 1986 graduate of Wor-Wic Community College and senior vice president of BSC America, will address the 2005 graduating class at the college’s 28th commencement exercises on Tuesday, May 10, at 7 p.m., at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury.

BSC America is a holding company specializing in vehicle management and auction services. Nichols oversees operations in Bel Air, Md. He is also the managing director of the company’s real estate development division, which is currently engaged in several large residential and commercial development projects in Worcester, Talbot and Harford counties in Maryland and Accomack County, Va.

After receiving his associate degree in hotel-motel-restaurant management from Wor-Wic, Nichols transferred to the University of Baltimore, where he majored in business. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the college foundation and is assisting with the college’s Three-Way Challenge Campaign to raise funds for nursing, technology and child care initiatives at the college.

He is a member of the board of trustees of Worcester Preparatory School and the strategic planning committee of the National Auto Auction Association. Nichols is also a member of the Chesapeake Wildlife Heritage Foundation, the Ocean City Marlin Club, Ducks Unlimited and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Berlin. He is a past board member of the Maryland Sportfishing Advisory Board and the Worcester County Economic Development Board.

Nichols and his wife, Mechelle, have three children, Raymond, 13, Stephen, 11, and Grace, 5.
