Online Non-Profit and Grant Writing Courses Begin May 18
April 14, 2005

Wor-Wic Community College is offering online non-profit and grant writing courses beginning May 18.

Gain a better understanding of the role of executive director and the board of directors, special event and meeting management, public relations and finding employment in the non-profit sector by taking “Introduction to Nonprofit Management.”

“Marketing Your Nonprofit” is designed to help nonprofits learn marketing and publicity techniques to increase membership, expand program value, attract the media, entice donors and recruit volunteers.

Executive directors, organizers, board members, volunteers and development officers can learn the research, development, organization and preparation techniques used to write grants and complete proposal packages by taking “Grant Writing From A to Z.”

“Get Grants!” is designed to help development professionals, educators, and staff and volunteers of non-profit organizations learn how to recognize what makes a project attractive to a funding agency, how to create a compelling case and how to produce competitive proposals that get grant awards.

Learn to reduce the rejection of your proposal by avoiding common errors and preparing background and financial statements that support the grant proposal by taking “Writing Effective Grant Proposals.”

“Advanced Grant Proposal Writing” covers learning the criteria grant makers use to determine which grant proposals are rejected or funded and obtaining community and political support prior to submitting a proposal to government agencies.

Each course begins on Wednesday, May 18, and can be completed in six weeks.
