High-technology Focus at Wor-Wic
August 07, 2006

In addition to credit programs in technical fields such as computer studies, electronics, manufacturing and x-ray technology, Wor-Wic Community College offers a variety of distance learning options for students who have time constraints, work schedule conflicts or are otherwise unable to attend classes at a specific college location at a designated time.

Online credit courses are being offered this fall in accounting, biology, business, chemistry, Internet design, macroeconomics, child development, English, history, mathematics, psychology, sociology and criminology.

Another more than 100 courses are being offered online by the continuing education office. Examples include computer applications, programming, certification preparation, grant writing, event planning, business writing and supervision.

Classrooms at Wor-Wic are enhanced so that networking, digital and audio-visual technologies can be integrated into the curriculum. Wor-Wic’s focus on high technology is also exemplified by its fully-electronic library. Online full-text reference databases, videos, computer simulations, specialized software applications and Web-delivered subscriptions can be accessed both on and off campus.
