Lead Paint and Mold Courses Being April 19

Monica Barnett of Landover, Md., will teach a variety of lead paint abatement and mold remediation courses in April at the Wor-Wic Community College campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Home and rental property contractors and workers can gain a better understanding of the requirements of the Maryland lead and rental property regulations of House Bill 760 by taking “Lead Paint Abatement Worker Training,” which is being offered on Tuesday, April 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Lead Paint Maintenance and Repainting Supervisor Training” is being offered on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 19 and 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Lead Paint Visual Inspector Training” is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, April 21 and 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Learn about the health risks associated with exposure to mold, as well as remediation and drying techniques for rental properties, businesses and industries, by taking “Mold Remediation Worker Training” on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 26 and 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Barnett is president and environmental training specialist for Peak Safety Systems in Landover. She has more than 15 years of training experience in safety management, lead paint abatement, asbestos removal, hazardous waste operations, mold remediation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance.
