Law Enforcement Class Graduates

Nineteen law enforcement officers from Dorchester, Caroline, Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Queen Anne’s, Talbot and Anne Arundel counties graduated in the 53rd entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Chief Melbourne J. “Ben” Blue of the Easton Police Department.

James M. Beatty Sr., director of the ESCJA, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by Dr. Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic, and various agency representatives. Mark L. Bowen of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Dr. Stephen L. Capelli, vice president for academic and student affairs at Wor-Wic.

In addition to Bowen, graduates included Jonas A. Barry, Chad L. Crockett, Jason J. Guarino, John D. Stuart and Rodney D. Wells of the Salisbury Police Department, Charles E. Campbell Jr., a civilian graduate from Cambridge, Shawn B. Beach of the Ocean City Police Department, Glenn R. Hilliard of the Crisfield Police Department, Richard A. Ward of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department and Tina M. Russell of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore University Police.

Upper Shore graduates included Jason W. Krizmanich of the Cambridge Police Department, Jacob C. Andrew of the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department, Charles A. Cummings III and Charles A. Gore of the Easton Police Department, David A. Hubbard of the Federalsburg Police Department, Christopher M. Schwink of the Queen Anne’s Sheriff’s Department and Jennifer H. Washburn of the St. Michael’s Police Department.

Also graduating was Raymond C. Aaron Sr. of the Annapolis Fire Marshal’s Office.
