Cooking Courses Begin March 14 in Berlin

“Sushi 101” and “Breakfast and Brunch Cookery for B&Bs” are two of the “hands-on” cooking courses being offered in March by Wor-Wic Community College at the college’s Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center in Berlin.

Phil Cropper of Berlin will cover the health benefits, classical presentation and safe food handling of sushi in “Sushi 101,” which will meet on two Mondays, March 14 and 21, from 6 to 9 p.m.

J. Thomas Robertshaw of Selbyville, Del., will cover modern techniques and heart healthy breakfast alternatives in “Breakfast and Brunch Cookery for B&Bs,” which will meet on Tuesdays, March 15-29, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

Cropper, general manager of the Globe restaurant in Berlin, serves on the boards of the Baltimore International College, the Delmarva Chefs and Cooks Association and the Worcester County Arts Council.

Robertshaw has more than 20 years of experience in the food service industry, ranging from catering to executive chef. He is a past president and current member of the board of directors of the Delmarva Chefs Association.
