Lead Paint and Mold Remediation Courses Begin March 7

Lead paint abatement and mold remediation training is being offered this spring at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Home and rental property contractors and workers can gain a better understanding of the requirements of the Maryland lead and rental property regulations of House Bill 760 by
taking “Lead Paint Visual Inspector Training.” The class will meet on Monday and Tuesday, March 7 and 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Lead Paint Abatement Worker Training” is being offered on Thursday, March 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Lead Paint Maintenance and Repainting Supervisor Training” is being offered on Thursday and Friday, March 10 and 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Learn about the sources and conditions conducive to mold generation, health effects, worker protection and mold remediation techniques by taking “Mold Remediation Supervisor Training.” The class will meet Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 28-30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Mold Remediation Worker Training” will be offered on Monday and Tuesday, March 28 and 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All mold remediation and lead paint abatement courses are being taught by Monica Barnett of Landover, Md., president and environmental training specialist for Peak Safety Systems in Landover. She has more than 15 years of training experience in safety management, lead paint abatement, asbestos removal, hazardous waste operations, mold remediation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance.
