Law Enforcement Class Graduates

Twenty-two law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Talbot, Queen Anne’s and Kent counties graduated in the 56th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College at the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall at the college campus, featured a commencement address by Sheriff Dallas G. Pope of the Talbot County Detention Center.

James M. Beatty Sr., Wor-Wic’s director of criminal justice, presided at the ceremony. Awards of certification and excellence were presented by Patrick Bradley, executive director of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md., and various agency representatives. Charles J. Kelley of the Ocean City Police Department was the class speaker. Closing remarks were made by Bradley.

In addition to Kelley, graduates included Christopher D. Shockley of the Fruitland Police Department, Melissa C. Brown, Justin L. Fontaine, Ignacio Rodriguez and Matthew J. Warren of the Salisbury Police Department, Sara J. Dorsey, Danielle S. Giordano and Natalie R. Smolko of the Ocean City Police Department, Robert V. Horseman III and Joy M. Howe of the Pocomoke City Police Department and Andrew R. Felsecker of Berlin, a civilian.

Upper Shore graduates included Jessie M. Phan of the Centreville Police Department, James H. Walker of the Chestertown Police Department, Devonta D. Watford of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Kelly A. Horengic and Daryl E. Willey of the Hurlock Police Department, Joseph H. Apple and Amelia E. Lopez of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, Charles M. McCracklin Jr. and Edward D. Sutton of the Rock Hall Police Department and Tonia C. Dawes of the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office.
