Sept. 19 is ACT Deadline
September 04, 2003

Area residents have until Friday, Sept. 19, to register for the American College Testing (ACT) examination, which is being offered by Wor-Wic Community College on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 a.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Students interested in Wor-Wic’s nursing and radiologic technology programs can use their score from this examination as one of the criteria for admission.

Those who take the Oct. 25 test will be eligible for admission consideration for the full-time radiologic technology program beginning in July of 2004 or the college’s nursing programs beginning in September of 2004.

Wor-Wic’s certificate nursing program can lead to a career as a licensed practical nurse, while the associate degree program can lead to a career as a registered nurse. Graduates of both programs must take a state examination to become licensed to practice nursing. Graduates of the radiologic technology program can take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists examination to become registered radiologic technologists.

Any area resident interested in obtaining an ACT registration packet can call Wor-Wic’s admissions office at (410) 334-2895.
