Health Careers Information Night Scheduled for Sept. 6

The community and continuing education office at Wor-Wic Community College is offering a free health careers information night on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m., in Room 109 of Cottage 100 at the Holly Center in Salisbury.

Donna Horsey, director of allied health, will give a presentation about Wor-Wic’s allied health courses, instructors and class locations. Horsey will discuss allied health occupations such as dental, certified nursing and medical office assisting. Other allied health occupations to be covered include diagnostic (ICD-9) and procedural (CPT) coding, geriatric nursing assistant, personal trainer, physical therapy aide, and pharmacy, phlebotomy and EKG technicians.

Horsey’s presentation will focus on local job opportunities, the skills needed to get started or to advance in one of these professions and non-credit allied health courses being offered by Wor-Wic this fall. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
