Financial Aid Workshops to be Held in Feb.
January 20, 2004

“College Goal Sunday” and “FAFSA on the Web,” free financial aid workshops for anyone interested in attending college, will be held in February at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

Sponsored by the DE-DC-MD Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, “College Goal Sunday” is on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. Sponsored by Wor-Wic, the “FAFSA on the Web” workshops will be held every Tuesday throughout the month at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Wor-Wic is one of 14 different locations throughout Delaware, the District of Columbia and Maryland hosting the “College Goal Sunday” event. The eight additional “FAFSA on the Web” workshops have been scheduled to further encourage area residents to obtain help with the federal financial aid application process.

The purpose of these events is to help college-bound students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the form required by colleges, universities and private career schools to qualify for scholarships, grants and loans. Anyone 23 years old or younger should attend with a parent or guardian, who should bring their completed IRS 1040 tax form, W-2 form or other 2003 income and benefits information. Anyone 24 years or older can attend alone, bringing their own 2003 tax records.
