January 07, 2004

Workers, supervisors and visual inspectors who work with lead paint can apply for or renew their accreditation by the Maryland Department of Environment after taking lead paint courses offered by the office of community and continuing education at Wor-Wic Community College this winter.

“Lead Paint Abatement Worker Training” is being offered on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury. Supervisors interested in obtaining accreditation would need to attend this class, as well as an all-day session on Friday, Jan. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in order to complete “Lead Paint Maintenance and Repainting Supervisor Training.”

Accredited visual inspectors interested in maintaining their accreditation can take the “Lead Paint Visual Inspector Refresher Course,” which is being offered on Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the college campus.
