Jail and Correctional Officers Graduate

Thirty-seven jail and correctional officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties graduated in the 59th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury.

Graduation exercises, which were held in Guerrieri Hall on the college campus, featured a commencement address by Warden Ronald L. Howell of the Kent County Department of Corrections in Chestertown.

James M. Beatty Sr., director of the ESCJA, presided at the ceremony. Gloria A. Herndon, administrator of correctional training for the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in Woodstock, Md., gave the closing remarks. Awards of excellence were presented by agency representatives.

Harris III, Thomas B. Holland, D’Janelle D. Jones, Elizabeth O. Lim, Phillip D. Marshall, Theresa D. McCaskill, Robert J. More, John T. Paro III, Debra A. Passwaters, Patrick J. Rozengota, Regina A. Walker, William M. Walters and Evan M. Ward of the ECI in Princess Anne, James A. Crockett, Justin L. Fontaine and Michael T. Mears of the Somerset County Detention Center, Corey D. Aubrey Sr., Howard E. Elzey, Thomas M. Robinson, Darrence L. Slacum and Lavant E. Stanley of the Dorchester County Detention Center, David J. Marinik of the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center, and Cheyenne J. Chase and Daniel L. Thomson of the Talbot County Detention Center.
