Verizon Enhances Technology at Wor-Wic with $115,000 Gift
September 17, 2004

DONATED EQUIPMENT. Verizon Maryland recently donated $115,000 worth of interactive technology equipment to Wor-Wic Community College as part of the college’s Three-Way Challenge Campaign. The new Tegrity system captures and converts classroom instruction into streaming lectures and software tutorials for distance and classroom learning. With Tegrity, the three separate components of audio, video and computer applications are synchronized into one presentation, which provides a multimedia learning platform for students. Shown here with the new equipment are Tony Marva of Verizon Maryland, left, and Dr. Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic. The Wor-Wic Foundation is accepting one-time nursing, technology and child care gifts as well as pledges for payments that can be made over the next four years. For more information about the campaign, call the development office at (410) 334-2808.
