Small Business Courses Begin Oct. 8

New small business courses are being offered this fall by the office of community and continuing education at Wor-Wic Community College. The courses are designed to help established and prospective business owners learn more about starting and managing a small business.

Learn about Web site development, cost effective Web marketing strategies,and how to secure the best search engine listings to attract customers, by taking "Web Page Solutions for the Small Business," which is being offered on two Fridays, Oct. 8 and 15, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the college's Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center in Berlin.

Become more knowledgeable about federal, state and local tax reporting and record keeping requirements, and learn the benefits of different types of business organizations, by taking "Small Business Tax Principles," which is being offered on Thursdays, Oct. 14 through Nov. 4, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the college's Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center.

"Taking Your Business From Vision to Reality" is designed to help prospective or established business owners learn how to evaluate goals, efforts, effectiveness and hourly worth, and how to shift responsibilities to new employees and maximize the use of outside resources. The class will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce in Ocean City.

Learn how to write a business plan that includes a business strategy and tactical implementation plan that will help to maximize your chances for funding by taking "Developing a Winning Small Business Loan Proposal," which is being offered on Saturday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the college's Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center.
