Register for Credit Classes at Wor-Wic
November 15, 2004

Area residents can obtain academic counseling, take diagnostic assessments and register for credit classes at Wor-Wic Community College, now through Dec. 10.

Registration is offered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Wor-Wic’s campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury. Spring semester classes begin Jan. 14 and end May 2.

Academic counseling is available to anyone interested in attending college who is unsure about how to apply or undecided about a program of study.

Diagnostic assessments, which cover reading comprehension, English usage and mathematics, are also offered free to anyone interested in applying to Wor-Wic. The diagnostic assessments are required for all new students who do not have a high school diploma or the equivalent, new students who register for six or more credit hours in one semester, students who register for an English or mathematics course, students who register beyond 15 cumulative credit hours, or students who are currently in high school. Students should plan on the diagnostic assessment lasting about three hours.

The assessments are administered by appointment at Wor-Wic’s campus during the day and in the evening and at the college’s Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center in Berlin during the day.

The results of the assessments are used for class placement and they do not affect a student’s acceptance into the college. Admission to Wor-Wic is open to anyone 16 years old or older who has graduated from or left elementary or secondary school and has the ability to benefit from instruction.
