Landscaping Design Course Begins Jan. 18

Contractors, homeowners and anyone interested in employment in the landscape design industry can learn about design fundamentals, plant and material selection, and how to create and implement a landscape plan by taking “Landscape Design and Maintenance,” which is being offered by Wor-Wic Community College on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 18 through Feb. 10, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at Parkside High School in Salisbury.

The course will be taught by Chuck Nichols of Fruitland, a fourth generation landscaper and co-owner of Somerset Landscaping in Westover. Nichols has been involved with the family-owned business for almost 40 years. He has taken numerous landscaping architecture and horticulture classes at Florida and Maryland universities.
