Supervision Courses Begin Jan. 20

Develop stronger interpersonal skills, learn practical applications for use on the job, and benefit from the firsthand experience of others by taking one-day supervision and leadership seminars, which are being offered by the continuing education office at Wor-Wic Community College at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

“Time Management and Organizational Skills” is designed to help students organize information, discover power planning, set and achieve goals, deal with interruptions and maintain productivity. The class will meet on Thursday, Jan. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Stress Reduction for Supervisors and Managers” is a new course designed to teach students how to identify the causes and symptoms of stress, evaluate and establish priorities, allocate time and energy, and reduce and cope with stress. The class will meet on Friday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Savvy Communication Techniques” is designed to help students develop effective communication and reflective listening and responding skills. The class will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“First Line Supervision: Keys to Success” is designed to help supervisors make their teams more effective and productive through open communication and positive examples. The class will meet on Friday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
