Business and Finance Courses Begin Jan. 26

Supervisors, managers and business owners can improve their leadership skills, understanding of Web site development and meeting planning abilities by taking business and finance courses, which are being offered by the continuing education office at Wor-Wic Community College.

“First Time on the First Line” is designed to help new supervisors improve their leadership skills. Topics such as communication techniques, conflict and change management, team building and employee motivation will be covered. The class will meet on Wednesdays, Jan. 26 through March 9, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the college campus in Salisbury.

“Web Page Solutions for the Small Business” can help anyone interested in using the Internet to expand or start up their business. Web editors, marketing strategies, search engine listings and design elements will be covered. This class will meet on Wednesdays, Jan. 26 and Feb. 2, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the college’s Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center in Berlin.

“Planning Your Meeting: A ‘How-To’ Approach” is a new course designed to help meeting planners increase their knowledge of site selection, negotiating techniques, appropriate room setups, audio-visual equipment, and food and beverage selection. The class will meet on Mondays, Jan. 31 through Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
