New U.S. Coast Guard Captain's Licensing Courses Begin Oct. 3

New U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s licensing courses are being offered in October by the community and continuing education office at Wor-Wic Community College in cooperation with the Community College of Baltimore County.

“U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s Licensing Course (OUPV)” and “U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s Licensing Course (Master 100 Tons)” will both meet on Tuesdays, Oct. 3 through Nov. 14, from 6 to 10 p.m., and on Saturdays, Oct. 7 through Nov. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Master course will meet for an additional five consecutive sessions on Sundays, Oct. 8 through Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Anyone who currently has an OUPV Captain’s license can increase to a Master by taking “U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s Licensing Course (Upgrade to Master),” which is being offered on Sundays, Oct. 8 through Nov. 5, and Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

All three courses will be held at the Wor-Wic campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
