Free Information Sessions Offered by Wor-Wic

The public is invited to attend free information sessions being offered this spring by the continuing education and workforce development division at Wor-Wic Community College.

The commercial truck driver training, business, computer, allied health and QuickBooks information sessions will be held in March and April. They are designed to help individuals gain a better understanding of training options offered at Wor-Wic for people of all skill levels.

"Commercial Truck Driver Training Information Day," which is designed to help veterans learn more about applying their education benefits to the truck driver training program at Wor-Wic, will be held at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road. Anyone interested can attend on Friday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to noon, in Room 105 of Henson Hall, or on Wednesday, April 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m, in Room 307 of the Academic and Administrative Building.

Business and management information sessions will be offered by Wor-Wic and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Salisbury. Anyone interested can attend on Wednesday, April 4, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, in Room 105 of Henson Hall at the college campus, or on Wednesday, April 11, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the SBDC in the Power Professional Building. Information will be provided about training opportunities and business resources available for anyone who is thinking about owning a business.

Computer information sessions will be held on Wednesday, April 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and on Thursday, April 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Room 302 of the Student Center at the college campus.

The allied health careers information night will be held on Wednesday, April 4, at 6 p.m., in Room 109 of Cottage 100 at the Holly Center in Salisbury. Details will be presented about non-credit allied health courses being offered by Wor-Wic, as well as local job opportunities and the skills needed for employment or advancement in the allied health field.

"QuickBooks - Getting Started" will be held on Thursday, April 19, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., in Room 302 of the Student Center at the college campus. Learn more about the ease of small business bookkeeping with QuickBooks software and obtain the basics needed to take a QuickBooks course at Wor-Wic. A demo of the QuickBooks software will be provided.
