New Master Logger Training Series Begins May 21

Anyone interested in learning about sustainable forestry and logging safety can benefit by taking “Master Logger Core Training,” a new four-course series that is being offered by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College. The class will meet Monday through Thursday, May 21-24, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

The series consists of four courses, “OSHA Logging Safety,” “Sustainable Forestry I: BMPs and Harvesting Aesthetics,” “Sustainable Forestry II: Forest Ecology and Silviculture” and “Sustainable Forestry III: Endangered Species and Outreach.” The four courses can be taken together or separately.

The courses are offered in partnership with the Maryland Interactive Distance Learning Network, Allegany College of Maryland and Chesapeake College.
