Johnson joins Wor-Wic

Wor-Wic Community College recently welcomed Deirdra G. Johnson of Salisbury as director of retention and student success.

Prior to joining Wor-Wic, Johnson was the coordinator of retention and enrollment initiatives at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in Princess Anne. She also worked in public relations at UMES.

Johnson received her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and her master’s degree in mass communications from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge.

Johnson and her husband, Robert, an associate professor of mathematics at UMES, have two children, Isaac, 10, and Lauren, 5.
