December 03, 2007
Dr. Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic Community College, was one of 20 community college presidents from across the country selected to attend a recent meeting sponsored by the office of vocational and adult education of the U.S. Department of Education.

“Fostering Career Pathways in High-Growth Industries: A Meeting of Community College Presidents” was the first meeting of the department’s newest initiative, a series of four meetings on “Issues that Matter to Community Colleges.”

The purpose of the meeting was to give college leaders an opportunity to share experiences and learn from colleagues about their challenges and successes in the area of career pathways and workforce education.

The presidents were asked to contribute information about the innovative work their community colleges are doing and the challenges and successes they have experienced in implementing career pathways in a variety of high-growth industries.
