New Basic Boating Certification Course Begins April 22 in Berlin

All recreational boat and personal watercraft operators born after July 1, 1972, can learn basic principles of safety on the water and accident avoidance techniques, including navigation rules, aids to navigation, legal requirements and how to handle fires on board, by taking “Maryland Basic Boating Certification Course,” a new boating course being offered by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College. The class will meet on Tuesdays, April 22 and 29, from 6 to 10:10 p.m., at the college’s Berlin-Ocean City Instructional Center in Berlin.

Students who successfully complete the course will be issued a Maryland basic boating safety education certificate that is valid for life.

Other sections of this course will begin on May 21 and June 11 in Berlin.
