Supervision Courses Offered in March

Managers, supervisors and business owners can gain a better understanding of project management, customer service, human resources and office politics by taking supervision courses being offered this March by the continuing education office at Wor-Wic Community College on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

“Practical Project Management Applications” is designed to help any employee who manages or implements projects learn how to use a five-step process for planning, monitoring and controlling any project. The class will meet on Tuesday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Learn to positively handle angry customers, effectively answer questions and confidently solve problems by taking “Providing Exceptional Customer Service to Difficult People.” The class will meet on Friday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Human Resources Fundamentals” is designed to help anyone interested in working in the human resources field to learn the basic components of the human resources function including employee recruitment and selection, training, compensation and personnel-related laws. The class will meet on Wednesday, March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Learn to identify the reasons for territorial battles at work, analyze why people cause problems with productivity and identify the destructive games frequently played in the workplace by taking “Turf Wars and Office Politics: Defensiveness and Territoriality at Work.” The class will meet on Friday, March 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
