Veterans Services

Find out about VA benefits, Military Tuition Assistance and programs to help support veterans.

Wor-Wic’s Director of Veterans Services provides specialized customer service to veterans, members of the various branches of military service, and eligible dependents. The director serves as an advocate for students by providing information about the college and assisting with Veteran's Administration (VA) programs and certification. The director also serves as the VA School Certifying Official and acts as liaison between the college and the regional VA offices to provide information on college procedures, and to resolve problems regarding eligibility and payment of VA benefits.

GI-Bill® benefits are approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) for numerous credit and non-credit educational programs. Wor-Wic complies with Public Law 114-315 Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2016, which modifies 38 U.S.C. 3679(c).

Campus Resources
Wor-Wic Chapter of the SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society

SALUTE is the only national honor society recognizing and honoring the service and the scholastic achievements of student veterans.  Over 270 colleges nationwide have a SALUTE chapter on their campus.
SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society was made possible by an ACE/Wal-Mart Foundation Success for Veterans Grant, and is headquartered out of Colorado State University.

SALUTE =  Service – Academics – Leadership – Unity – Tribute - Excellence
To SALUTE is to acknowledge, congratulate, pay respects, and recognize. These terms are synonymous with what SALUTE National hopes to do for our members who have shown courage, strength, leadership, excellence, and perseverance in their military endeavors and now are showing that same commitment to their academic careers.

The students who are inducted into SALUTE represent every slice of American military and veterans in higher education, at two and four year institutions. Members include retirees, disabled veterans, active duty military, National Guard and reservists returning to higher education, starting second careers, or helping fund their college careers with military service.

See the Director of Veterans Services in BH-316 for additional information.
