2007 Summer Program
During the summer months, the Child Development Center offers an additional program for children ages 6-12. Each day the children participated in a wide variety of activities that corresponded with the weekly themes. The pictures in this album show the kids in some of their daily activities and a sampling of the arts and crafts projects completed during the program. One of the highlights of the summer was when college students interning at NASA’s Wallops Island facility visited the center. After a presentation about rockets, the visitors helped the kids to construct and launch their own rockets. Our friends from the other classes at the Center were able to participate in this special activity as well.

Annual Halloween Party and Parade
Our first Halloween celebration was such a success we have decided to make it an annual tradition. Here are pictures from our first Halloween. The students paraded around campus in their costumes to visit many of the college’s administrative offices for trick-or-treating, stopped by the Barnes and Noble campus bookstore for a story and wrapped up the morning with a luncheon party back at the Child Development Center.

Community Helpers
The staff at the Child Development Center is dedicated to helping your children understand and be comfortable with the world they live in. Periodically, community members such dental hygienists, firefighters and police officers will visit our classrooms to provide the children with interactive learning experiences about health and safety. In addition, these visits help to explain the importance of community helpers and what a child should expect when he or she comes into contact with one of these people.

Holiday Party 2006
The Child Development Center staff held two holiday celebrations, one for the day children and another for the night crew. The day party included gifts from secret elves on campus and a party with family and friends. The evening children had a special visit from Santa Claus and his friends from the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Department. They were treated to a ride around campus on the back of a fire truck. A party with gifts concluded the evening.
