Academic probation occurs when your overall grade point average has fallen below an acceptable level (see page 47 of the college catalog)
You are limited to three classes per semester.
You can be removed from probation once you retain satisfactory academic progress by meeting or going beyond the minimum requirements for continuous enrollment with your GPA and percentage of credits passed.
If you were suspended after a spring semester or summer session, you cannot register for courses until the following spring semester.
If you were suspended after a fall semester, you cannot register for courses until the next summer session.
The Director of Retention (Deirdra G. Johnson) is located in AAB Room 110-D (410-334-2902).
You will need to spend at least three hours studying for each hour you are in class.
To calculate your GPA you must multiply the number of quality points by the number of hours carried by the course and then divide by the total number of hours carried (Example: 24 points divided by 9 hours would equal a GPA of 2.6).
Developmental education courses are not considered college-level courses and not part of a degree program; therefore, are not calculated into your GPA.
An academic advisor is a faculty member who assists you in what classes to take and in which order. You also keep the same advisor throughout your entire degree program.
