The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more
important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than
circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...
a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we
will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the inevitable. The only
thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that
life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how we react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge
of our Attitudes.
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You might succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt -
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
