Welcome Week

The Office of Student Engagement and the Student Government Association like to kick off the new academic year with a bang! We want our students to know we're excited to have them here by hosting sweet events. Check out what we have going on this September. But make sure you pick up your tour book to win awesome prizes just for attending events!

Student Government and Student Engagement are having their open houses from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on the second floor of the Hazel Center (HC 208 and 210). Come by for a free coffee and pastry along with our giveaway box filled with stuff you want and need (i.e. sample sizes of luna bars, deodorant, candy, laundry detergent, USB’s and more!)

Ever hear of Geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. We'll have 10 spotsExternal Link located on campus. Feel free to trade knickknacks with other geocachers! LearnExternal Link more now. Don't worry – we'll leave them out there for you to find if you can't nab them all right away.

September 13

At noon in the Hazel Center cafeteria, come check out an awesome show! Eh440 is an acapella group that was named the #1 touring act of 2015 by Campus Activities Magazine. Between them, they have released CDs that have topped the charts, been certified cold, toured world-wide, and recently appeared on the hit show Dragon’s Den (Canada’s version of Shark Tank) and got a deal! They were on of the top acts booked at the NACA National Convention. Eh is pronounced the Canadian way (like the first letter of the alphabet) and then the number 4 and then the number 40. Check out their video Died on the TableExternal Link.

September 15

For Constitution Day, we’re giving you the chance to eat lunch with a Vet! Enjoy your meal with your new found service member while people take turns reading a line from the Constitution. We’ll also be having Clubs Day where you can mosey around the tables and see what clubs and organizations we have to offer. So come on down to the café from 11:00 – 1:00 pm for some grub, readings, and a chance to enhance your campus life!
