Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship (WEIS)
Note: The application for the fall 2017 Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship (WEIS) is now available. The deadline to submit the WEIS application is June 1, 2017.
Would you like to attend college for free?
Wicomico County recently approved the Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship (WEIS) allowing new Wicomico County, MD high school graduates and Maryland High School Diploma completors to attend Wor-Wic Community College for free.
To qualify for free tuition and fees, you must have been a Wicomico County resident for two (2) years, have completed all your high school graduation requirements, and have an annual family income of $75,000 or less. In order to receive the scholarship, you must register for 12 credits per semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA each semester you are at Wor-Wic.
To be eligible, you must:
- Complete a Wor-Wic Community College Application
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); and
- Complete a Wicomico Economic Impact Scholarship Application
In addition, you will need to attend an orientation and registration session before classes begin.
Step 1: Complete the Wor-Wic Community College Application online.
Step 2: Complete your 2017-2018 FAFSA online. WWCC’s federal school code is 013842.
