Scholarship Criteria – High School Graduates
In order to receive the WEIS, high school graduates must:
- Have been a resident of Wicomico County for at least the past two (2) years
- Have attended a public or private high school in Wicomico County for at least the past two (2) years (Wicomico residents who attended Delmar High School are eligible)
- Have an average household income of less than $75,000
- Complete all high school graduation requirements
- Ensure that final high school transcripts are received by Wor-Wic
- Apply for admission into a degree or certificate program at Wor-Wic
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete the WEIS program application
- Attend a WEIS orientation and registration session before the beginning of the fall semester
- Register for 12 or more credit hours (or fewer if required in a specific academic program) at Wor-Wic in the fall term immediately after graduation from high school
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
Scholarship Criteria – Home School Graduates
In order to receive the WEIS, home school graduates must:
- Have been a resident of Wicomico County for at least the past two (2) years
- Have been home-schooled or attended a public or private high school in Wicomico County for at least the past two (2) years
- Have an average household income of less than $75,000
- Complete all high school graduation requirements
- Apply for admission into a degree or certificate program at Wor-Wic
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete the WEIS program application
- Attend a WEIS orientation and registration session before the beginning of the fall semester
- Register for 12 or more credit hours (or fewer if required in a specific academic program) at Wor-Wic in the fall term immediately after graduation from high school
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
Scholarship Criteria – GED or NEDP Graduates
In order to receive the WEIS, General Education Development (GED) or National External Diploma Program (NEDP) graduates must:
- Have been a resident of Wicomico County for at least two (2) years before completing their program
- Have an average household income of less than $75,000
- Enroll in the WEIS within one calendar year from the time they receive their Maryland High School Diploma
- Apply for admission into a degree or certificate program at Wor-Wic
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete the WEIS program application
- Attend a WEIS orientation and registration session before the beginning of their entry semester
- Register for 12 or more credit hours (or fewer if required in a specific academic program)
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
