Wor-Wic trains many of the certified nursing assistants, dental assistants, medical coders and phlebotomists who work on the Lower Eastern Shore. 

If you need a license or certification to enter the workforce, or continuing education to maintain your license, we have the courses you need. Many of these courses qualify for financial assistance.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Start your nursing career by becoming a certified nursing assistant (CNA). In less than seven weeks, you can earn your certification and enter the workforce.

Clinical Medical Assistant

Directly assist physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in providing clinical patient care. This is a hybrid series of courses that begins each fall. Registration requirements include a drug screen, background check, medical clearance, placement testing and attending an information session.

Medical Coding & Billing

Medical coding and billing courses provide instruction in identifying diagnoses and treatments in clinical documentation and assigning codes for reimbursement. We offer "Procedural (CPT) Coding" and "Diagnostic (ICD-10) Coding" courses that can prepare you for an entry-level position in a health care setting.

Medicine Aide Recertification

If you're currently working as a CNA/GNA/CMA and need a refresher for recertification, we provide a "Medicine Aide Recertification" course that meets the requirements of the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Nurse Refresher

Are you an inactive RN or LPN planning to return to the workforce? Take our "Nurse Refresher Clinical Practicum" course approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing. The course follows the completion of an online theory component and includes clinical skills training and a clinical rotation. It is offered only during the fall and spring terms.
