Register by April 24 for Technology Transfer Training

Entrepreneurs and manufacturers can learn more about technology transfer by taking a new course called “Grow Your Business by Accessing New Product Technology,” which is being offered by the continuing education division at Wor-Wic Community College on Tuesdays, April 30 through May 21, and Wednesday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the college campus on the corner of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.

To ensure course material delivery, students should register by Wednesday, April 24.

Technology transfer, also known as technology commercialization, is the process of moving the results of scientific research conducted at federal laboratories and universities to the marketplace and society. With technology transfer, manufacturers and entrepreneurs can take fundamental scientific discoveries and innovations that already exist and turn them into marketable products so that they can generate new avenues of revenue, become more successful and create more jobs.

The course is a collaborative project of the Delmarva Technology Transfer Initiative (DT2i), which includes Wor-Wic Community College, Chesapeake College, Delaware Technical Community College and Eastern Shore Community College, as well as the Eastern Shore Entrepreneurship Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
